Review: Herbivore Crushed Amethyst Exfoliating Body Polish

I’ll be the first to admit that I often neglect my body when it comes to my beauty regime. There are so many skincare products I’ve reviewed on this blog, and very few of them are bodycare. But what better time to pamper yourself then right now during quarantine, right? I had been looking for a new body exfoliator – I’ve tried a few but always went back to my tried and true Lush Rub Rub Rub – that is, until now. Enter the Herbivore Crushed Amethyst Exfoliating Body Polish.

Herbivore is an amazing clean beauty brand stocked at Sephora, and while I’ve tried a number of samples in the past, I don’t think I’ve ever ventured to make a purchase. Being awarded the Allure Best of Beauty badge was certainly a selling point for the scrub, but what really did it for me was the scent. A beautiful floral jasmine aroma that completely engulfs the bath each time it’s used, this luxury scrub is truly a treat.

Speaking of luxury, the packaging of this is heavy duty glass, so something certainly to be wary of if you plan on storing it anywhere slippery. But the product inside is the real hero here. The salt scrub, my preference over sugar (although there is still sugar in this scrub), is combined with crushed amethyst to create for the perfect grit to remove dead skin without having to worry about micro-tearing or irritation. It has the ideal texture to really scratch that exfoliation itch, while the addition of virgin coconut oil calms, soothes and moisturizes.

You might be thinking amethyst feels a little gimmicky – especially when the product totes the crystal’s stress-releasing energy as a benefit – but please don’t let this put you off. This scrub is one for the senses. A+ Herbivore, can’t wait to try more from you!
