Review: Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta® Universal Daily Peel

I’ve always preferred chemical over physical exfoliants, typically opting into an exfoliating mask once a week or so, but lately I’ve been on a real peel pad kick. I’ve already reviewed a few different brands’ peel pads over the years on here, but I’m now determined to find the best on the market. So first of what I’m hoping will be a series is the Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta® Universal Daily Peel.

A little background, I was actually triggered to start using peel pads again after I stumbled upon an old package of Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Nightly Brightening Pads. I’m already a huge fan of their Green Apple Peel Sensitive mask, so I figured I would give them a try. Turns out Juice Beauty doesn’t sell the pads anymore so naturally, I had to find a replacement.

Dr. Dennis Gross’ two-step system is suitable for any skin types. If you’re new to the blog, I have sensitive-reactive skin and this peel doesn’t irritate me. The treatment consists AHA and BHA pre-dosed wipes with five different acids that work in combination to reduce dullness, texture, pores, fine lines and wrinkles.

Step 1 uses AHAs and BHAs to exfoliate, while Step 2 uses retinol and resveratrol hydrates and smooths skin. I use mine nightly, or every other night, straight after washing my face. I’ll remove my make up, swipe the first wipe over my skin, and wait around 2 minutes for my skin to dry. Then I use the second wipe and wait the same amount of time before applying my serum and moisturizer.

So far I’m loving the results. My complexion is much more glowy and I notice when I forget to use it. It’s certainly sensitive enough for my skin but still delivers great results (something I find hard to come by). I would definitely recommend checking out these pads, and I think there’s even extra strength or gentle versions if this one doesn’t do the trick. A+ Dr. Dennis Gross! Let me know what peel pads you love so I can check them out!
