Despite it being probably the most critical part of my makeup routine, and using it almost every day, it takes me a while to go through an entire pot of concealer. I’ve been working through my RMS Uncover Up concealer for over a year now and have just recently hit pan. And even though it’s probably going to take me over another year to finish the whole pot, I thought it was about time that I try the Glossier Stretch Concealer.
I’m honestly not sure why it’s taken me so long to actually try the Stretch Concealer. I’ve heard so many good things about it. In fact, based on reviews it sounds like this concealer was made for me – hydrating, lightweight, sheer.
In terms of a comparison, the RMS and Glossier concealers work in virtually the same way. They’re both pot concealers, with natural, glowy coverage. Upon swatching, the Glossier concealer feels slightly more emollient, although I would say that both are on the slightly more oily side.
I have the RMS concealer in 00, so before I purchased I actually reached out to Glossier on Facebook to see if they had a recommendation for a shade match. They suggested G11 and I would say it’s a near perfect match.
Like RMS, the Glossier concealer is hypoallergenic, gluten-free, cruelty-free and noncomedogenic. It’s also dermatologist-tested AND ophthalmologist tested (something I hadn’t heard of before, but honestly am really impressed by) as well as paraben, fragrance and cruelty free.
The Stretch Concealer has a very slightly more pink under tone than the RMS, which actually works great under your eyes to counter any blue tones. The consistence is fairly buildable, however the more you layer, I find, the more at risk you are for creasing.
Glossier also claims that you can use the stretch concealer to cover up blemishes, although I prefer something a little more matte like the Nars Soft Matte concealer.
Overall I would say that the Stretch concealer is a great dupe for RMS’ uncovers, in fact, I may have just found a new holy grail! Let me know w other Glossier products should I try and to read more of my Glossier reviews, click HERE!
