A few weeks ago I reviewed the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer in Deep Bronze. I had high expectations because I loved the original, so I felt a little let down when it didn’t blow my socks off. Enter Bare Minerals Endless Summer Bronzer in Faux Tan. This is what I wanted the Butter Bronzer to be, plus some.
I’ve been wearing this bronzer pretty much exclusively since I purchased it. It’s described as a matte bronzer, but I would say it has more of a satin-natural finish, which is exactly what I look for in a bronzer. It comes in two shades, Faux Tan and Warmth, the latter being slightly more orange/red undertoned. I had a bit of a back and forth deciding which shade to purchase, but I ended up with Faux Tan and I’m so happy that I did. It’s a very unique shade. Not really cool toned, but also not red toned. I would say it has an almost green undertone to it. Similar to what you would get when applying fake tan.
While Faux Tan is made for fair to medium skin tones, it actually is pretty pigmented so you only need a light hand. I would also say that neither of the shades look like they would work for a dark skintone, which is unfortunate.
This is a mineral-based powder bronzer that’s supposed to blur pores and, get this, GRADUALLY TAN YOU OVER TIME. Now, I don’t know if this is really true. I haven’t noticed any added colour to my skin when I’m not wearing it. But I love the thought.
I like to apply this as I typically would apply any bronzer, with a big fluffy brush, but I also LOVE this on my eyes as a shadow. In fact, it’s kind of become my every day, one-swipe, easy eye look.
If you’re looking for a new bronzer and have fair to medium skin I definitely recommend checking out this product. I just hope that they come out with more shades down the line. This is my first purchase from Bare Minerals and I’m honestly SO impressed, now I want to check out more products from them.
