By now you all should know how much I love the Glossier Boy Brow in brown, but I recently ran out and in an effort to limit my online orders I decided to pop by Sephora to see what else they had in stock. Enter the Hourglass Arch Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel.
I’ve tried a lot of different brow gels over the years. I love the look of a tinted gel (with fibres is a bonus) because it gives me that extra bit of volume and hold, while remaining natural looking. I also had heard a lot about the Hourglass Arch Brow from some of my favourite bloggers, so I knew it would be next up on my list of things to try.
I picked up the shade Soft Brunette, which is similar, but maybe slightly more ashy than the Boy Brow in brown. The formula has a softer hold then the Boy Brow, but the main difference between Hourglass and any other brow gels I’ve tried is the Arch Brow’s unique dual-sided brush.
The brush features both long and short bristles, which are meant to help apply the formula for varying intensities. For example, I like to use the short bristles on the tail of my brow, where I want more product, and the longer bristles to brush through the rest.
The other great thing about the brush is that excess product doesn’t clump on the end when you pull it out of the tube. That was probably my biggest annoyance with both the Glossier Boy Brow and Milk Kush Brow – every time you would pull out the brush to use a huge clump of product would remain on the tip of it, and if you didn’t wipe it off you were looking at a glob right on the brow.
So the big question, does this take the place of my HG Boy Brow? Honestly, it’s hard to say. I love the brush on this product, but I think I might like the formula on Boy Brow more. Should I do another Battle of the Brows and put them both to the test at the same time? Either way, Hourglass has earned itself an A+ with this product – so ladies and gents, we have a winner in my books.
