Covergirl is now Cruelty Free! Exhibitionist Review

Covergirl recently announced that they are officially Leaping Bunny certified by Cruelty Free International, which means they’re now a Cruelty Free makeup brand  – the largest in the world! My friends over at Influenster sent along a few of their new products to test out, and let me tell you, Cruelty Free looks great on them.

One of Covergirl’s new standout Cruelty free products is their Exhibitionist Mascara. It’s the brand’s answer to L’Oreal’s Lash Paradise and Too Faced’s Better Than Sex. And to be perfectly honest, I like Covergirl’s mascara better than both!

The mascara has a similar wand to those other fan-favourites, but it’s the formula that sets it a part in my mind. It’s not too wet, but also not too dry, and best of all, it doesn’t smudge! While this isn’t the most volumizing or fluffy mascara (that’s what I prefer), it’s certainly a contender, and an excellent drugstore option for those looking to save a bit of money.

Bonus for all you oily-lid ladies and gents, Exhibitionist also comes in a waterproof formula!

Influenster also sent along two other Cruelty Free products for me to test out – their Get In Line Liquid Eyeliner, and Exhibitionist Cream Lipstick in Sweetheart Blush.

I love the packaging of the Get In Line liner, it’s super lightweight and the shape contours for a perfect grip. I don’t usually wear liquid liner, so I don’t have a lot to compare it too, but it’s very black, and the ultra fine 0.1 tip allows for a super precise flick. My only call out here is that I noticed this liner kind of bleeds. Not to be confused with smudging (this will do that too if your eyes are watery enough), but it almost bleeds into the tiny cracks in your skin once you apply. You can’t really notice it unless you’re really looking up close, but it might bother some people.

As for the Exhibitionist Cream Lipstick, while I really like the formula, the colour I received was simply not for me.Sweetheart Blush is an almost bubble gum pink with an intensely shimmery silver running through it – that’s simply not wearable for me. I do love the packaging though – it’s minimalist and sleek, which seems like a real step up for Covergirl!

Overall the Exhibitionist mascara is the standout product here, but the fact that Covergirl is now 100% Cruelty Free, that gives them a solid A+++ in my books!

**I received these products complimentary for reviewing purposes, but all the opinions are mine!**
