Review: RMS Beauty Shimmer Twilight Palette

RMS Beauty is one of the most popular clean beauty brands on the market. I’m already a massive fan of their Un Cover-up concealer, but other than that I haven’t actually tried a lot from them. So finding a trio like the Shimmer Twilight Palette felt like the perfect opportunity to dig a little deeper into the brand.

I picked up the mini trio from Anthropologie, which according to a quick google search appears to be the only place that currently carries it. The trio combines the perfect full-face of makeup in the cutest little on-the-go packaging. You’re not getting a lot of product in a palette like this. In fact, it’s more about convenience than quantity. But I think that’s why it makes it perfect to test out the brand if you’ve been humming and hawing over it for a while.

The trio includes three products – their favour Magic Luminizer (sister to the cult classic Living Luminizer), Lip2Cheek in Demure and Eye Polish in Myth.

The Magic Luminizer is hands-down the star of the show here. It’s super creamy and leaves the perfect amount of glow to the high-points of your cheeks. It’s a beautiful champaign colour that is a great top off to a natural, every-day makeup look.

This whole palette (and arguably the brand) is all about looking natural. And that’s what you’re going to get with the Lip2Cheek in Demure. It’s a lovely fresh pink colour that looks like a natural flush, and blends right in to the skin. It also lasts a surprisingly long time on the skin considering it’s an all-natural cream blush.

The final piece to the puzzle is the Eye Polish in Myth, which is a beautiful metallic taupe. The polish is made using coconut and jojoba oils, so don’t expect this to stay put. It almost feels like an eye-gloss, which means creasing is inevitable. I’ve tried it both on its own and with a primer, and it makes no difference. The plus side is the eye polish claims to double as a firming eye cream, so at least you’re getting some nourishment out of it.

All in all I think this trio is a great little go-to for travel and natural looks. I can see it finding its way into my hand bag for touch-ups (you can apply all three with your finger). With this, it’s no wonder RMS Beauty is quickly making its way into my top favourite beauty brands. If you’ve been thinking of checking them out, maybe give this one a go. A+ RMS Beauty – you’ve got a fan in me!
