My Wedding Day Makeup

After 10 years I finally said “I do” to my best friend and the love of my life. But it wouldn’t be a beauty blogger’s big day without a blog post about the look I wore to walk down the aisle. So here it is, my official Wedding Day Makeup!

A lot of people using makeup artists for their wedding day, but it was really important that I looked exactly like myself when my future husband saw me walking toward him. With that in mind, my wedding day makeup shouldn’t come as a big surprise, I used almost all favourites that have been featured on this blog in one way or another. My goal was to look like the best, most natural version of my self, so here’s what I did.

Base: This was a no-brainer for me. I used my favourite long-wearing BB Cream from Shiseido. I knew with this foundation I wouldn’t have to worry about touching up – and boy am I glad I did because it was a scorcher of a day out and I spent the majority of it running around chatting with people. I also used my new favourite RMS Un Cover-up Concealer under my eyes to really brighten and hide the fact that I was running on very little sleep (all excitement I swear).

Contour & Highlight: I used all holy-grail products for my contour and highlight – starting with a budget friendly favourite, the Wet n Wild Cushion Contour, which was combined with my OG favourite Physician Formula’s Butter Bronzer. For highlight I doubled up again for the ultimate glow with the Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand topped off with Laura Mercier’s Matte Radiance Baked Powder Compact.

Blush: I went back to basics when it came to blush – just a touch of the Clinique Cheek Pop in Heather Pop to give me that natural pink flush.

Brows: For brows I filled in lightly with the IT Cosmetics Brow Power in Universal Taupe and set everything in to place with the Glossier Boy Brow in Brown.

Eyeshadow: Here’s where I really had some fun. I used two of my favourite luxury eyeshadow palettes to create my signature look. I started with the lilah b. palette in Perfection, using the matte shade in my crease, the darkest brown on the outer-v, and lightest shade on the centre and inner corner. I then took a damp brush and used the bottom left shade from the Tom Ford Nude Dip quad to create a glossy wet sheen right in the centre of my lid.

Mascara: I completed my eye look with the It Cosmetics Superhero mascara for a voluminous but natural lash look.

Lips: Of course when it came to lips I had to use the very special custom lipstick I made at my bachelorette from the Bite Beauty Lip Lab, and if you haven’t already read that blog post, I highly recommend checking it out! It was such an amazing idea for a bachelorette!

I finished everything off with a spritz of my favourite setting spray, the Mac Fix+ in Lavender, and was all set for the day. My hair was done in a simple but elegant French Twist by the incredible Kendra from Palm Sunday.

All in all my day was more than I could have ever dreamed of. Not only did I get to marry the guy of my dreams, but we were able to celebrate our love with all of our closest family and friends. I couldn’t have asked for a more magical day and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with my brand new husband!
