Natural is something I always look for, especially when it comes to skincare. But it’s harder to find haircare products that can make the same claim. Live Clean has set out to change that.

I was recently sent Live Clean’s new Mineral Clay Rebalancing Shampoo and Conditioner combo to review. It’s a brand that I had definitely heard of before – but I knew them for their skincare line, not haircare. Little did I know, Live Clean is actually the number one brand in naturally derived haircare.

Their new Mineral Clay line is designed especially to combat oily roots and dry ends – problems I know all too well. It’s kind of like having combination skin, but instead it’s hair. The Mineral Clay Shampoo helps to purify oily roots while the conditioner hydrates and moisturizes dry ends.

The Mineral Clay is actually a combination of Kaolin, Montmorillonite and Bentonite – known for their cleansing, oil absorbing and stimulating properties. And it’s combined with certified organic botanicals of Apple Cider, Witch Hazel, Tea Tree and Green Tea for their purifying, astringent qualities. Plus Vitamin E and Provitamin B5 to moisturize.

Despite the shampoo and conditioner having moisturizing properties, I find that it’s still a little too drying to be used together for my bleached and damaged hair. That said, I do like using the shampoo with a deep hydrating mask, or the conditioner with a more moisturizing shampoo. I think that if you don’t have processed hair like me, and are still suffering from a combination of oil and dryness, it might be worth checking out. Either way I absolutely love this concept of “combination hair”!

I think my favourite thing about this line is how natural it is – plant and natural based, Silicone, Paraben and Phosphate free, and vegan, just to name a few. If you’re looking for a clean haircare line, definitely look no further. And because it’s available at the drugstore, you know you won’t be breaking the bank!
