Review: Sara Happ The Lip Slip

There are very few things I love more than a good lip balm, and Sara Happ’s The Lip Slip would most definitely be classified as a good lip balm.

I had heard about Sara Happ through one of my favourite YouTuber’s Makeup By Tiffany D, and even in her videos I could tell that this was a lip balm I was going to need to try. I had only ever seen it sold online at Nordstrom, so I was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled upon the lip balm (and scrubs) at Queen West’s own Brika – a great place to pick up some holiday gifts if I may say so myself.

At first glance The Lip Slip reminds me of the Dior Crème de Rose Balm – but then you notice some subtle shimmer à la Glossier Birthday Balm Dotcom. It’s like two of my favourite lip balms gave birth to the holy grail of lip balms.

The Lip Slip is meant to bring out your skin’s natural colour (though I’m not exactly sure how it does that). It applies a milky pink gloss to the lips, and has the most luxurious texture. Despite the name, I don’t actually feel as though this balm gives me much slip, but rather an almost sticky base (which I actually prefer, especially if I plan on applying any other lip stick later in the day).

The best thing I’d say about this balm, is that it actually hydrates my lips. It would surprise you how many lip balms actually make my dry lips worse. But not this one, this balm has quickly become an every day staple to my skincare and makeup routine.

I can’t wait to try more Sara Happ products. In a recent visit to Brika I noticed that they were selling the Lip Glosses too, and I happen to have my eye on The Nude Slip. A+ Sara Happ! Well done!

Have you tried any Sara Happ products? Let me know in the comments below!
