Review: Touch In Sol

I’m always looking to try out new products, so when the lovely folks over at Beauty Lyric reached out about sending me some items from Touch In Sol, I was eager to give them a try.

Like all good things, Touch In Sol hails from Korea, and is currently being stocked in Sephora and Urban Outfitters. The brand has a pretty wide range of both skincare and makeup products (although not all are available in North America).

Of the items that were sent to me, there were a few hits and misses, but regardless a brand that has certainly peaked my interest.

Let’s start out with the No PoreBlem Primer (see what they did with that name there). This product was by far the stand out for me. It’s a pore filling primer that glides over the skin flawlessly and eliminates pore visibility almost instantly. If I could compare it to any other primer out there, I would say it reminds me most of the Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer. The primer contains green tea extract and Collagen that helps skin look smooth and healthy. They also say that this primer contains a ‘unique powder’ – though I’m not sure exactly what that means – that claims to control sebum production resulting in smooth, velvety skin.

Another primer I tested, which unfortunately was a miss for me, was the Toc Toc Toning Capsule Base. This Primer has little capsules in it that are meant to burst when applied to (I assume) add luminosity. I’m not sure if I just got a dud, but the capsules didn’t break for me and ended up just rolling around my skin. The liquid in the serum itself is not bad, a little tacky-which I imagine would be great for making your makeup last longer, but unfortunately I didn’t get the full effect of this base.

I also had the opportunity to try out a couple of different lip products. First, the One Step Closer Lip Crayon in Kiss of Fire. I really love this lip crayon! It’s super creamy and incredibly pigmented, so I like to apply a little bit to the centre of my lips and blend it out to be a smudgy tint. I’ve also seen some swatches of some of the other colours they carry and might have to get my hands on a few more!

Speaking of tints – I also tried the brand’s Lust Lacquer Waterdrop Tint. To be honest I’m not sure how to feel about this product. This product is very pigmented and bright, but it doesn’t really apply smoothly. It comes off a bit patchy and sticky, which is not something I really want in a lipstick. HOWEVER, I do love the tint that this product leaves behind after it wears off. It lasts a really long time and just perks up my pout. I think I’m going to have to play with this one a little bit more, but if you’ve tried it, let me know your thoughts!

Finally I tried out the Dixi Chicxi Glossy Cheek in Sweet Pink, which is sort of a liquid blush. I think this colour was a little too fair for me, but I really like the idea of this as an on-the-go blush. You just use the doe-foot applicator to apply the product to your cheeks and blend out with your fingers. The blush has a really great texture that blends in to the skin seamlessly for a natural flush.

I think that even though not all of these products worked for me, it still introduced me to a brand I think I’m going to love – a new go-to primer and a fab addition to my lip collection!
