Review: DryBar’s Ultimate Travel Essentials Kit

I’ve been on the hunt for a new blow dryer for quite some time now, and when I saw DryBar’s Ultimate Travel Essentials Kit from Sephora, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to upgrade.

When it was time to purchase a new blow dryer I made sure to do my research. I compared a few different styles and brands, but I knew I wanted something light and compact (for storage). My hair is already fairly fine, so I didn’t necessarily need heavy duty power – just something that would dry my hair quickly, without damaging it.

Now on to the star of the show, the DryBar Baby Buttercup. First, if you’re going to buy this blow dryer, definitely opt for the Travel Essentials Kit. It’s the same price as if you were to buy the blow dryer on its own.

I’ve already spoken about how much I love DryBar’s Detox Dry Shampoo and Conditioner – they’re pretty much the only two products I use in my hair – so having a kit that included two travel mini’s was just a bonus. The travel brush, clips and dust bag are cute, but not huge selling points in my opinion.

The Baby Buttercup itself is a 1250W compact, travel blow dryer which uses ionic technology to improve the condition of your hair. It drys my hair quickly – in around 3 minutes – and comes with two temperature settings, two speed settings and a “cool shot” button.

I would highly recommend this blow dryer for anyone who either travel a lots or is looking for compact quality. The 1250W dryer works well for my medium-long length fine hair, but if you’re working with thicker, curly or frizzy hair, you might want to opt for the full size version – the DryBar Buttercup – which comes with an 1875W motor.
