Alright folks! It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for. The big reveal of my Best of 2016: Makeup Edition! We’ve had some highs and lows, but these beauties have truly brought me joy this year.
Let me know what you’re 2016 beauty favourites are in the comments below, and don’t forget to check out my skincare favourites if you haven’t already!
- Primer: I’ve got a new favourite this year, in the Make Up For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer in the green, redness correcting shade
- Foundation: While not technically a foundation, the Erborian BB Creme has been giving me life this year
- Concealer: On two very opposite ends of the spectrum, I’ve equally been loving the Clé De Peau Concealer as well as the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
- Powder: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder remains my No. 1 pick for the past three years now
- Contour: I haven’t been contouring much in 2016. Instead Bronzer has taken the number one spot with the Chanel Soleil de Chanel. Need a drugstore option? Look no further than the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer.
- Highlighter: The Marc Jacobs Glow Stick is basically all I’ve been wearing since I purchased it
- Blush: The Clinique Cheek Pop in Heather Pop is still my favourite blusher, but I’ve been trying to make an effort to love some others – in fact, the Sephora VIB Rouge gift from Nars introduced me to Goulue, which I’ve been loving
- Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly Hills is still rocking the eyebrow game – I’ve been loving the Brow Wiz. But NYX’s Micro Brow Pencil has been a great dupe!
- Eye Primer: Still, the Nars Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base is my holy grail shadow primer. Nothing comes close.
- Drugstore Shadow: MILANI BELLA EYES GEL POWDER EYESHADOW. Enough said.
- Cream Shadow: A new addition to the cream shadow collection is Charlotte Tilbury’s Eyes to Mesmerize in Marie Antoinette
- Powder Shadow: I’ve rekindled my relationship with Mac recently, and have been loving the colour Malt as the perfect transition shade
- Palette: Charlotte Tilbury’s Instant Look in a Palette truly is all you will ever need
- Eyeliner: I’m not a huge eyeliner girl, but I recently got a sample of the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Brown and I’ve been loving how precise it is
- Mascara: This one goes to Benefit’s Roller Lash, which I am unfortunately out of at the moment
- Brush: The much hyped about Artis Oval 7 is worth the splurge and has been my go-to foundation brush since I added it to my collection
- Lip Balm: Nuxe’s Rêve de Miel is still reigning supreme – I’m in love with the semi-matte finish
- Lip Gloss: Lancer Volume Enhancing Lip Serum is the ultimate gloss, the plumping effect is just a bonus
- Every Day Lipstick: The Surratt Lipslique in Chuchoter is my new holy grail nude
- Bold Lipstick: Clinique Pop Lipstick in Poppy Pop is a beautiful orangey-red – great for both a summer and winter bold lip
- Drugstore Lip: Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lipstick in Love & Obeige is the perfect drugstore nude
- Summer Perfume: Bobbi Brown Beach is summer in a bottle
- Winter Perfume: I purchased the Byredo 1996 perfume in Paris so not only does this remind me of an amazing trip, but it smells absolutely beautiful
