My eye area can be incredibly uncooperative. It’s hypersensitive and is susceptible to eczema and dark circles. So when I discover a new eye treatment I seriously put it to the test.
I recently picked up Skin Iceland’s Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels from Sephora. The package contains eight, single-use, disposable eye gels that cool and infuse the area with a concentrated does of elastin, peptides, and gingko biloba.
The adhesive gels are meant to soothe, de-puff, firm and reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and dark circles. Bold claims, that’s for sure. So how well do these work?
There’s certainly a cooling sensation when you apply them, and they definitely de-puff. As for fine lines, wrinkles and dark circles, I haven’t noticed a difference. Perhaps it requires more regular use, but if you’re looking for instant results, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend these.
Still, I love how these patches apply. You don’t have to deal with the goopy mess that comes with most sheet masks, and once you apply them, you can go about your business without worrying that they will fall off.
My only caution is if you have a sensitivity to adhesive. I’ve left these on longer than the recommended 10 minutes and noticed some redness where the patches adhered to my skin.
Overall, I would rate these patches a B+ – any eye treatments you can’t live without? Let me know!
