Review: L’Oreal Revitalift Bright Reveal

Influenster teamed up with L’Oreal Skin Expert this month and sent out a bunch of VoxBox’s with the brand’s new Revitalift Bright Reveal skincare line, and I was lucky enough to receive one!

What is Influenster? It’s a really cool app that allows users to discover new products, read beauty reviews, ask questions and more!

To be honest, I was skeptical when I received this VoxBox. I usually only like luxury skincare. In fact, it’s probably what I invest most in. But I love the idea of trying some thing new, so the moment the package arrived in the mail, I instantly began testing.

There are four parts to the L’Oreal Revitalift Bright Reveal skincare line – an exfoliating cleanser, peel pads, night time moisturizer-serum combo, and a daily lotion with SPF.

The first product I tried was the Brightening Scrub Cleanser with Glycolic. I don’t usually like physical exfoliants – my skin is just too sensitive – but I was pleasantly surprised with how gentle this cleanser was. The physical exfoliating beads are actually very small, and the combination of glycolic acid gives just the right amount of exfoliation. This cleanser foams slightly, but nothing too offensive, and there’s not really a smell to it. I use this cleanser at night as a second cleanse after removing my makeup, and my skin afterwards feels very soft.

After cleansing, I use the Brightening Peel Pads. These pads are nicely soaked, and have a kind of chemically smell to them (which isn’t really surprising as most peel pads do). I use one pad at night and swipe it around my face – forehead, cheeks, chin and nose. I avoid my eye area, and if you have any breakouts, these might make them sting a little. Overall though, the pads are a great, quick extra step to take at night to really brighten your complexion. Any hyper-pigmentation that I have is slowly disappearing, and I honestly think that it’s because of this skincare line.

Next up is the Brightening Dual Overnight Moisturizer, which is probably the most innovative product in the line. This moisturizer combines both a serum and moisturizer in one. There are two separate tubes in the one package, and when you press down on the pump, both products come out at the same time. The moisturizer has a bit of a sheen to it, which I don’t love (why do I need my skin to shine while I’m sleeping?), but overall it seems very hydrating. Typically I would go for something slightly more moisturizing, but I’m actually pleasantly surprised with how nicely my skin feels after using this.

After using all of these products at night, in combination, my skin feels very soft the next morning. In the AM I’ve also been trying out the Brightening Daily Lotion with Broad Spectrum SPF 30. First, I LOVE that this moisturizer has an SPF of 30. It’s super convenient to not have to add another step to my morning skincare routine. This lotion is also very light, which is not something that I would typically use, but again I’ve been very pleased with the results. It also doesn’t hurt that it is a great base for applying my makeup!

Overall, I really like this line (which actually really surprised me) and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for some more affordable skincare that truly brightens the skin.
