We’ve all seen these brushes hyped up online – so I thought I would pick one up and put it to the test myself. Keep reading for my full review on the Artis Oval 7 brush.
Okay. First off, these brushes are crazy expensive. I’m not sure how someone can purchase the whole brush kit without ever trying one first. So I decided to only pick up one, and the one I grabbed was, of course, the most hyped up: the Oval 7.
Artis describes this as a face brush – you can apply foundation, blush, highlight, bronzer, basically any face product. I chose this brush specifically for foundation application.
The main, and obvious difference between this brush and every other, is the design. It kind of looks like a hair brush, but according to Artis, they’re specifically designed for self-application. The brush is made with CosmeFibre, and is super densely packed and incredibly soft.
So, how does this apply foundation? Absolutely fabulously! The brush is pretty big, so it covers a lot of surface area quickly. Because of the densely packed fibres, not much product is absorbed in to the brush, so a little goes a long way. I also love that you’re meant to glide the brush across your face, rather than buff. It may seem strange at first, but the results are astounding.
Overall I would highly recommend the Oval 7 – in fact, I’m enjoying this brush so much that I’m considering investing in more! I picked up mine from Net-A-Porter. Let me know what you think of Artis brushes on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!
