Review: Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive

JuiceBeauty

I’ve never been a fan of exfoliating, until I met the Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive.

In the past, I always used a physical exfoliant – I’m not sure why, maybe it was the way I was brought up – but when I heard exfoliate, I always thought of scrubs. But the older I get, the more dry and sensitive my skin has become. I’ve found that physical exfoliants tend to tear at my skin, especially around my areas of eczema.

When I first heard about chemical exfoliants, my immediate reaction was that of terror. Chemicals on my skin? No way! But after doing a bit more research, I realized that chemical exfoliants are actually great for sensitive skin. Which brings me to Juice Beauty’s Green Apple Peel Sensitive – my first chemical exfoliant.

The main chemical exfoliant in this peel is alpha hydroxy acids (or AHAs) which help to exfoliate and reduce the appearance of dark spots and discolouration. The great thing about Juice Beauty, is that the brand is totally organic. The AHAs used are made up of malic acid from organic green apples and glycolic acids.

You apply the treatment 2 times a week for 10 minutes after cleansing, then rinse thoroughly. There’s a little bit of tingling and flushing, but that’s totally normal, and after your skin feels as smooth as a baby’s bottom!

I would highly recommend this for anyone with dry and sensitive skin, and if you have more oily or combination skin, Juice Beauty also makes a full strength version. You can get Juice Beauty at Sephora or Holt Renfrew here in Canada.

Got other chemical exfoliants you love? Let me know! I would love to hear about them!
