Sephora’s recent Beauty Insider sale was the perfect excuse to test out the new trend of colour correctors, and of course when it came to picking out a couple to try YSL’s Touche Eclat Neutralizers were the obvious choice.
I picked up two shades of YSL’s Touche Eclat’s Neutralizers – Violet and Green. The Violet shade is meant to correct yellow, dull skin for a healthy-looking glow. This isn’t a tone I would usually think to pick up, but swatched on my hand, I was impressed with how brightening it looked.
I do, however, suffer from a lot of redness, especially around my nose, so I knew that I wanted to pick up a green shade.
Overall, I’m not sure I see much of a difference when it comes to the purple tone. The green colour, however, is amazing! I like to put this all around my nose and on my chin, underneath my foundation. I’ve tried blending this in with my Beauty Blender and a foundation brush, but I think my favourite way to use this is with my fingers.
The only downside to this corrector is it’s longevity. Now, I haven’t tested a lot of correctors, so I’m not sure if this is typical, but I find that after a few hours, I’m back to my regular red self. And reapplying is not really an option, unless you want to re-apply all of your foundation.
Overall, I would rate this product a B, but this experience has definitely got me interested in trying out other colour correctors from different brands. Do you have any recommendations? Let me know!
