Getting my Glow on: My Top 5 Highlighters

There’s been a lot of talk about highlighters over the past year. Everyone, including me, has been on the search for the perfect glow, and I think I finally might have found it.

First up, Benefit’s Watt’s Up! Now I only have a sample size of this, but it’s a fantastic cream highlighter and perfect for traveling. I like to pop this right on the cheeks before I powder, and blend in with my fingers.

Next, I have Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Opal. This is my newest purchase, but quickly becoming a favourite. Shimmering is the key word here – this highlighter has a lot more sparkle than the others I’ve listed. I like to apply it with a fan brush to lessen the impact, but a little really does go a long way. It’s like liquid gold.. err, opal, I suppose.

At this point you’re probably seeing a trend here. Most of my highlighters tend to be a warm golden tone, and Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder is no different. This powder and the Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Powder in Candlelight are very similar. A much softer highlight and great for every-day wear! Definitely top shelf products here!

The last highlighter in my collection comes in palette form. It’s the Shimmer Highlight in the Lorac Pro Contour Palette. This highlight is a lot more white than the others, and thus a lot harder to wear during the day. I also find that this highlighter is chalkier than the others. Overall, not the best in my collection, but still worth the mention!
