Best of Beauty 2015

I can’t believe it’s already 2016! What better way to start off a new year, than with a round up of all of my favourite beauty products from 2015. I’ve tried to narrow down, to the best of my ability, (you’ll notice that I’ve failed miserably in this attempt for certain categories), each element of my beauty routine. What made your 2015 round up? I’d love to hear – let me know by tweeting me at @CourtneyParkes!

  1. Primer: Hands down this has to be the Too Faced Hangover RX Replenishing Face Primer.
  2. Foundation: DiorSkin Nude Air serum primer has really impressed me this year. It’s like baby skin in a bottle. Honourable mentions go to Chanel VitaLumiere Aqua, and Charlotte Tilbury’s Light Wonder Foundation, which I recently purchased and am LOVING!
  3. Concealer: I feel like I’m on a never ending quest to find the best concealer, and Urban Decay’s Naked Skin has come as close as it can to being a ride or die for me.
  4. Powder: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder remains my No. 1 pick for the past two years – right now I’m rocking Diffused Light and Dim Light.
  5. Contour: The incomparable Inglot Sculpting Powder in the number 505. There is literally nothing in this world that compares.
  6. Blush: I’m a blush addict. Next to eyeshadow, it’s probably the biggest part of my makeup collection. But this year, my favourite blush has to be the Clinique Cheek Pop in Heather Pop.
  7. Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly Hills steals the show for eyebrows this year. I find myself rocking the Dipbrow Pomade more often than not (in the colour Taupe), with their number 7 brush, and topped off with a little bit of their Clear Brow Gel to set everything in place.
  8. Eye Primer: The Nars Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base. No contest.
  9. Drugstore Shadow: This year I discovered the Elf Smudge Pot in Cruisin Chic. This stuff does not budge.
  10. Cream Shadow: Okay this is a bit of a cheat since I already mentioned the Elf cream shadow, but I had to find a category for Mac’s Paint Pot in Groundwork. I find myself wearing this most, as a base, or even on its own, for those no makeup-makeup days.
  11. Powder Shadow:finally got my hands on the Burberry Wet & Dry Silk Shadow in No. 102 Pale Barley. If you’re in Canada, you know that this has been a tough one to find, but Sephora recently started stocking it online, which changed the game for my eye makeup in 2015.
  12. Eyeshadow Pallete: The Viseart Pallete in 01 Neutral Matte has been my go-to pallete for pretty much every look in 2015. In fact, I have my eye on the 06 Paris Nude Pallete next!
  13. Eyeliner: I don’t wear liner often, but when I do I reach for the NYC Liquid Liner in Black. Super cheap, but does the trick!
  14. Mascara: This one goes to Benefit’s Roller Lash, which truly does hold a curl!
  15. Brush: Bobbi Brown’s Sheer Powder Brush has to be my brush pick for 2015. While I could probably list 5 others that ruled my year, this one has really gone the extra mile for me.
  16. Lip Balm: I’m pretty finicky when it comes to balm, but Nuxe’s Rêve de Miel is the perfect base for any lip look.
  17. Lip Liner: I’m not typically a lip liner person, but Rimmel’s Exaggerate liner in 063 Eastend Snob has me thinking that 2016 might be the year for liners.
  18. Every Day Lipstick: Now this is my ride or die makeup product – Bobbi Brown’s Creamy Lip Color in no. 58 Pale Petal. Seriously, what would I do without this lipstick?!
  19. Bold Lipstick: There are actually a few bold lips I loved in 2015, but Clinique’s Pop Lip Colour and Primer in 06 Poppy Pop really impressed me. I love how creamy it is, while still delivering that punch of colour.
  20. Drugstore Lip: When it comes to a more affordable lip, my 2015 pick has to be the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in 06 Pink pong. Matte, bold, long wearing, but not drying.
  21. Summer Perfume: I really couldn’t narrow down my perfume choices for 2015. I don’t buy perfume often so when I do, I need to make sure I love it. For summer I’ve been rocking Tom Ford’s Jasmine Rouge and Estée Lauder’s Bronze Goddess, depending on the day.
  22. Winter Perfume: For Winter, and probably my all around favourite perfumes, I would have to go with Elie Saab’s Le Parfum and Narciso Rodriquez’s Narciso, no question!
